Are you space-inspired?

Let's get going!
All you need to have is curiosity.
Come, meet other space-inspired citizens and be inspired by our space speakers. We love diversity and cross-overs - whether that's the disciplines, the perspectives, your affiliations... You don't have to dream of building a rocket at the age of one to be space-inspired. We welcome you as you are + curiosity.
|
You already work on some space-y thing? Do you want to get more people working on it? We are happy to help you spread the word as long as your project is open to participation.
|
No one is ever too young or too old to learn new things and everyone has something interesting to share. So let's get together and make something together. Hackathon, design jam, makers day - we called it Hack-n-Learn but it really doesn't matter how we call it!
|
If you have an idea for an event or project and have 3 backers, we'll work with you to work out how to make your proposal happen, just suggest a meetup.
OR Wanted to learn something other than the existing Hack-n-Learn's? Suggest a topic and let's see if we can get something put together. OR Just very into info-graphics and wanted to be our co-pinner on Pinterest? Follow us on Pinterest and message us. |
The Space Town Hall Popup
A popup event where we celebrate citizen space (or space-inspired) projects, exchange space knowledge, over a beer and maybe even pizza. As well as announcing progress citizens have made in our learning initiative. Get a feel for our events at our Logbook.
The event format
We'll start off with our speakers of space. Then move over to an open area with tables. On the tables there will be beer and pizza, brought to your generously by our sponsors. But also on the table would be where you can group around certain space artifacts/ project ideas and form project groups there and then. If you have an idea or some prototype people can join you, bring it along and occupy a table! Don't be afraid to take this opportunity to find some collaborators!
Should I come along?
If that's what you are wondering, yes is the most likely answer. Space exploration is about curiosity and diversity, so is Space Town Hall.
- If you are space-curious, come and learn about space from our speakers and chat to like minded.
- If you are interested in participating in space related projects, you are in for a treat. Every Space Town Hall event will provide opportunity for citizens, regardless of background, to join a space related project.
- If you have a piece of artistic expression (music, installation, poem...) relating to space, come and move the audience. The more multi-disciplinary, the merrier.
- If you are not one of the above, come along and tell us we need to include you!
What to bring?
Bring all things space along - ideas, demo, prototypes, poems, music, sculpture, film, jokes, toys, electronics/mechanics hackeries and diy sciences... We will have plenty of tables if you need a surface to put your demo on. At a minimum, we request that you bring your curiosity and an open mind to share. We believe in diversity - we all have something to share, if not now, we are sure you will be inspired and share later!
